Road of the Dead 2 Road of the Dead 2

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

The characters are pretty soulless and bland.

It's the usual "male brooding hero" and the "strong independent womyn". The main character of the previous game was much better.

The rest is top notch of course.

A nice change of pace from the usual games we get. Good job!

There are some things to say, though.
For example, the atmosphere is great and all, but that "ssSSHWOOOOSHHHSSss" sound effect that plays when you 'Wait' really takes away from the overall experience.

If you can, change that noise or remove it entirely.

Other than that, it's a cool new concept.

Pros:

-Simple concept, yet addicting.
-Very good time-waster.

Cons:
-Annoying/disgusting bite sound.
-Nothing new in my book.

It's a solid 3 stars. Could use a little bit of improvement though.

Road of the Dead Road of the Dead

Amazing game. It has a great atmosphere, amazing gameplay and graphics. It's awesome.

Why am i giving it 4 stars and not 5?
Because the resolution is so freaking tiny. This game deserves to be fullscreen, not that small rectangle.

Allright, to make it simpler i'll just make a list of what's wrong with this game.

1. The gameplay is nothing new. It's basically "conquer a zone by drawing a square. You draw that square by moving your character. Don't hit the enemies." It's been done over and over again already.

2. Absolutely no tutorial. I got to level 5 without even knowing what i was doing, but then i noticed the green square which brings me with issue number 3...

3. The actual game is the small green square. Everything else is just a useless background for a pointless backstory. The screen that deserves all of the player's attention is just a 2cm x 2cm square. Great.

4. The controls are terrible and unresponsive.
When in a game i want the character to go Up, it better go freaking up. Not keep going horizontally and after passing four blocks of buildings go in the opposite direction.

Honestly, it's not one of those games where you can say "atleast it's a good time-waster".
But no, sorry. It's unoriginal, repetitive, unresponsive and overall boring.

Besides the fact that it's not a full game, i don't like how the fuel works more like a timer than actual fuel.
If you don't press the accelerator, you shouldn't use fuel.

That's my only gripe with this game. Besides that, it's amazing.

Not creative at all.
The game is nice and pretty, but when it comes to being actually creative, it just falls flat.
A headshot? Really? Wow that's some nice imagination you got there.

It basically suffers of the same issue as the first one:
The game is good, but the title is waaaay misleading.

Average game, though.

Strollin' Strollin'

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Allright, let's review this game.

The concept is what it's all about. If it wasn't for the memes, the game couldn't have got Front Page'd.

With that said, the controls in midair are horrible. The blocks in the floor are too many and too near to actually be possible to control the stickman.
The "safe" floor to jump is too tight and between 2 giant lakes of spikes.

The gameplay is a bit repetitive, and the upgrades are almost the only thing that keept me interested for a bit more than usual. I never got to filling a "Strollin" bar because of the horrid controls.

Nice game to pass the time, sweet use of the memes, the audio might be too loud at certain points but that's fine.

+1 for the upgrades.

Change the floor or the controls. Or both of them.

7/10

Allright, here's my review (SPOILERS)

The game is very good, but there are some points where you could improve.

ART-STYLE: It's nice and pretty, but does it really need to be the same for every level? It gets bland after a while. Put something that differs a level from another.

COMBAT: Great. But not too great. When the enemies hit you, you have no way to attack. You must wait for it's combo to finish and get all the damage. Same for the enemies, they can't attack while you are hitting them, making it too easy by button-smashing. The W attack is just overpowered.

LAST LEVEL: In the last level, you play as the bad guy, because he is the one who must win. But i must say, he's got really shitty powers. His powers are ALL against him. The S power will make you fall down, the D power is useless, the W power is a bit more useful but still not as useful as the standard A. I understand you wanted to give him some different powers, but these were just too awful for that environment (floating island).

ENEMIES: They are bland. Just the same guys over and over. There was only 1 "mini-boss" (which i overkilled imediately by hurting him with the W, recharging it with the D attack and then doing the W again). The fire-breathing-bats were annoying at first, but then they became a "Special Attack Farm". If you know what i mean...

LEVELS: Despite the fact that the game was so short, some of the levels weren't even levels. Some of them were just the spawn, a hole, some stairs, and the end of the level. So, the levels are around 10-11.

TUTORIALS: Some of them were very VERY useless. In some parts it showed me how to doublejump when i already did it to pass the previous 3 levels.

ORBS OF SPECIAL ATTACKS: Why? Why must those things exist? Just so you can "W" your way out of there by teleport-attacking the flames? It would have been much better and more challenging if it was an unlimited spawn of enemies, and then when you finally got the full special bar, you would be able to get out.
Those orbs take away a big part of the game.

OVERALL RATING: 7/10 3/5.

Average game with some issues. Nothing original or new, sadly.
I liked to be the bad guy at the end.
